Volunteer with Us

We love it when other people get passionate about our work.

The following documents are also available in hard copy on request.

If you fancy volunteering with Chapter – there’s a number of ways and we’d love to have you on board!

Just pick up the phone or email us for information on the latest opportunities.

Opportunities currently include:

– A new and exciting mentoring project, funded by the Westminster Foundation. You will receive training and then be matched according to your skills to an individual who would benefit from a bit of extra support

– Assisting in running group activity sessions, such as a craft or art group, a walking club or book club. If you have a particular passion for a certain hobby, then let us know! We’re looking to establish clubs and sessions in the key areas of Chester, Ellemere Port and Neston. One of our friendly Activity Project Workers will help find you a place to host your activity and support you throughout.

– A more ‘behind the scenes’ role in Admin or IT, where you can share your skills, host training sessions or help us run the charity.
In addition to your voluntary role, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, learn more about mental health issues and meet lots of new and interesting people. Volunteering always looks great on your CV and we can help you access a range of training.

Our Board of Trustees is responsible for the strategic direction of the charity. The Board meets regularly during the year to consider, determine and review Chapter’s strategies and policies, and to receive reports from the Chief Officer and sub-group committees.
They work for Chapter in a voluntary capacity. Members of the Board of Trustees are elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). The officers of Chapter are – Chair, Vice Chair, Company Secretary and Treasurer. In addition to these offices, each Trustee chairs a sub-committee covering areas such as, Business Development, Communication and Publicity, Finance and Human Resources.

A full induction is offered to all new Trustees, and we welcome individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.

If you think this is a role you would like to pursue, please contact us for an initial discussion.

As a charity we rely on donations to continue our work, often described as ‘life changing’ by the people we support.
You can help by getting involved in one of our fundraising events, run your own fundraising event or challenge in our name, or get your company to raise money for us.

But it’s not all about the money!

We also appreciate ‘in-kind’ gift donations. Can you help us with donations of A4 printing paper, coffee and tea, quality gifts at Christmas, craft supplies, reading books, new or as good as new gardening equipment?

We always appreciate people letting us know that they’d like to help – just get in touch!

So the boss has given you the afternoon to ‘go and do some team building’, but you don’t really fancy running around a field in camouflage in the middle of winter…

Don’t worry! We can find you something to do!

Treasure hunt across Chester anyone?

No? A race to see who can raise the most money in one day then? Or painting our offices? Or giving a talk at a local school? Or running an activity workshop on something you’ve never tried in your life.

The people we support have their own personal challenge every day. If you think you’re up for it, we’d like to challenge you too. Just contact us and ask for the Chief Officer.
