Chapter’s local corporate partners at MBNA’s Chief Operations Office have had a busy few weeks.
First, their team walked the length of the Wirral Coast for sponsorship. The 15-mile walk was a tough slog in difficult conditions, but £1,519.25 raised including Gift Aid indicates that it was all worthwhile.
Julie-Anne Williams said:
“It wasn’t easy, I’m not going to lie and say it was! Lots of tired legs and feet, but it was all worth it.”
Not content with this epic journey, the team then carried out a fundraising bag pack in Tesco and raised a further £336.21.
In the first half of the year, MBNA’s fundraising amounted to £3,757.50.
And we’re still their Charity of the Year for a few more months!
Chapter is a small local charity, meaning MBNA’s support makes a huge difference to our service users with severe mental illness.
One-to-ones and access to group activities (arts & crafts, healthy cooking classes, relaxation classes and everything else) for one person costs just £502 per year.
If MBNA’s fundraising team keep up the pace, their efforts will be enough to secure empowering, enabling and enduring support to around 20 local people with mental illness for a whole year.
Thank you so much to everyone who has taken part in the fundraising activities!
